Copper-catalyzed trifluoromethylation of unactivated olefins.
The inclusion of fluorinated functional groups in small molecules has had a profound impact on the pharmaceutical, material, and agrochemical industries.[1, 2] In particular, the trifluoromethyl (CF3) substituent has emerged as an important functional group for the modulation of the physical properties in new pharmaceutical candidates as it has excellent metabolic stability, lipophilicity, and ...
متن کاملPalladium-Catalyzed Fluoroalkylative Cyclization of Olefins.
A palladium-catalyzed fluoroalkylative cyclization of olefins with readily available Rf-I reagents to afford the corresponding fluoroalkylated 2,3-dihydrobenzofuran and indolin derivatives with moderate to excellent yields is reported. This novel procedure provides an efficient method for the construction of Csp3-CF2 and C-O/N bonds in one step. A wide range of functional groups are tolerated. ...
متن کاملAqueous room-temperature gold-catalyzed chemoselective transfer hydrogenation of aldehydes.
Reduction of aldehydes to the corresponding alcohols is one of the most fundamental and useful reactions that are important in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry. Among the various available reduction protocols for the synthesis of valuable hydroxy compounds, catalytic transfer hydrogenation (TH) has emerged as the most viable, mainly due to the non-involvement of highly flammable and exp...
متن کاملMechanism of homogeneous Ir(III) catalyzed regioselective arylation of olefins.
The mechanism of hydroarylation of olefins by a homogeneous Ph-Ir(acac)(2)(L) catalyst is elucidated by first principles quantum mechanical methods (DFT), with particular emphasis on activation of the catalyst, catalytic cycle, and interpretation of experimental observations. On the basis of this mechanism, we suggest new catalysts expected to have improved activity. Initiation of the catalyst ...
متن کاملNickel-catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of conjugated olefins.
Asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of electron-deficient olefins is realized with nickel catalysts supported by strongly σ-donating bisphosphines. Deuterium labeling experiments point to a reaction sequence of formate decarboxylation, asymmetric hydride insertion and non-stereoselective protonation of resulting nickel enolates.
